to raise money for new parent awareness.

Please check out his story, and support him if you can through his Firstgiving account.  All proceeds will go to the DSC's new parent support effort.

The Down Syndrome Community is a registered 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to improve the lives of individuals with Down syndrome and their families by focusing on education, communication, and advocacy.  Our service area includes the entire Puget Sound region and Western Washington.  Our members include a wide cross section of families and professionals across the United States.

Our goals are to:

  • Build a caring, understanding, supportive community open to all individuals and families whose lives include a person with Down syndrome.
  • Share and nurture a climate where every human being is recognized, their strengths appreciated, and their accomplishments respected and valued.
  • Strengthen the network of individuals and groups working with issues affecting the lives of those with developmental disabilities and their families.

Organized in the late 1980's to educate and advocate on behalf of individuals with Down syndrome in the community around Puget Sound.  Our all-volunteer organization has grown from a small group serving the Seattle area to all of Western Washington.  Please let us know if you would like to volunteer to help with our mission, or if you have any questions about Down syndrome.  Please take some time to explore our website for more information about Down syndrome and the many activities and events we offer.
